Ecumenical Community Outreach Concert

Hanna United Methodist Church invites the entire community to join us for this exciting event featuring singer/songwriter and Christian author Jim Papandrea at 2pm on Saturday, September 7 at The Shed at Guse Christmas Tree Farm. Jim Papandrea shares his powerful Christian message "Celebrating Common Ground" through song and the spoken word. Stay after the concert to make new friends and to learn about the ministries of Hanna United Methodist Church, Bethel Presbyterian Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and Salem United Church of Christ.

Jim Papandrea is a Catholic author, speaker, musician, and teacher, recognized for his ecumenical work on behalf of the whole body of Christ. He holds an M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University in the history and theology of the early Christian church, with secondary concentrations in New Testament interpretation and the history of the Roman Empire.  He has also studied Roman history at the American Academy in Rome, Italy.  Jim is currently Professor of Church History and Historical Theology at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary at Northwestern University. He is the author of 17 books, including, A Week in the Life of Rome, and From Star Wars to Superman: Christ Figures in Science Fiction and Superhero Films. He is a senior fellow of the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology, and was recently named a “Springtime Ambassador” by the Springtime of Faith Foundation, which is an organization facilitating ecumenical dialogue and Christian cooperation.
